RECE TEACHERS POSITION DETAILS

ECE Teacher Qualifications Required:

• RECE: must be a member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators;
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
• Valid Standard First Aid Certificate LEVEL C (including Infant and Child CPR)
• Health Check, immunization and TB record up to date
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Open-minded, teachable, dedicated to excellence, driven, creative and organized

Duties include:

• To develop and implement educational programming for children ages 14 months -2.5 years old in a group setting;
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children;
• Follow/Implement the daycare’s philosophy and curriculum;
• Build positive relationships with children, families and staff team;
• Report to Daycare Supervisor.

Important Skills:

• Punctuality, flexibility, dependability, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, effective interpersonal skills, team player, reliability, values and ethics

Hours: Mon-Fri, 30-40 hrs per week

Daycare hours: 7:30 am – 5:30pm

Location: Newmarket (Yonge and Davis)

Experience: at least 1 year

Duties include:

• Monitor children, spot potential conflicts or accidents before they happen and maintaining classroom flow by helping follow the program outline or directing children to where they need to be;
• Assist the teacher to make sure class operations are running smoothly;
• Assist kids to perform routine tasks;
• Assist parents, answer questions, etc.;
• Help to keep the classroom clean and tidy;
• Diaper and feed infants and toddlers;
• Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs;
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods;
• Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors;
